JENNIFER BURNS
Secondary HOD/HS Social Studies Jennifer Burns is an American who has lived and taught in many places around the world, including the USA, Cyprus, Morocco, South Korea, Thailand, and now China. She is a certified teacher in Florida and has her M.A. in Education. It is her second year at AIAN, and her 15th year teaching abroad. Mrs. Burns is the High School Head of Department, the College and Careers Counselor, and a High School Social Studies Teacher.

ELIZABETH TAYLOR
Elementary HOD/ Grade 1 Liz Taylor has extensive experience working in International schools in Asia including working as Head of department for over 7 years in Myanmar. There, she wrote the elementary curriculum, planned, implemented and trained the local teachers on how to use it. Liz has worked in Thailand, Myanmar, China and Spain. She is also an examiner for Cambridge exams. She has a B.A. Hons in English Literature and has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Animal Behaviour. Liz has a Montessori Teaching Diploma in Elementary Education.

GLEN PORRITT
ELL HOD/High School ELL Glen Porritt is from the United Kingdom and has been teaching English as a Second Language for almost ten years. He studied his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Hull and his Master’s at the University of Teesside. He has his Advanced Teaching English in a Foreign Language Certification from The University of Columbia teaching college and had worked in both South Korea and England before coming to China in 2011. He will be working primarily with the high school students; teaching both English Language Learning and College Writing, and he also is the primary proctor and administrator for MAP testing here at AIAN
